When people come together to serve their community, amazing things happen.

Recently, employees from Prologis rolled up their sleeves for a volunteer workday at Southgate Park, partnering with the H.A.R.D. Foundation and the Hayward Area Recreation & Park District to help improve one of our community’s treasured public spaces. Throughout the day, volunteers worked side by side on a variety of beautification projects, including planting, mulching, painting, landscaping, and general park improvements.

Their enthusiasm, teamwork, and generosity transformed the park while demonstrating the incredible impact that volunteers can have in just a few hours. More importantly, their efforts created a welcoming space that will be enjoyed by thousands of children, families, and visitors throughout the year.

Volunteer projects like this are made possible because local businesses and community members believe that great parks don’t just happen—they’re built and cared for by people who love where they live.

Be Part of Something Bigger

Inspired by volunteer days like this, the H.A.R.D. Foundation has launched H.A.R.D. Corps, a new community volunteer program designed to connect people with meaningful opportunities to serve in our parks and recreation programs.

Whether you have a few hours each month or want to become a regular volunteer, H.A.R.D. Corps offers a variety of ways to get involved. Volunteers may help with park beautification projects, community events, environmental stewardship, youth activities, special programs, and much more. No special skills are required—just a willingness to make a difference.

Volunteering is a chance to meet new people, build community, develop new skills, and leave a lasting impact on the places that bring us together.

If you’ve ever wanted to give back to your community, there’s never been a better time to join.

Together, we can create healthier parks, stronger neighborhoods, and more opportunities for everyone to enjoy the benefits of recreation, nature, and community.
