PlayHARD Foundation Scholarship Program

At the Hayward Area Recreation & Park District Foundation (H.A.R.D. Foundation), we believe in the power of education and the importance of providing opportunities for all individuals to thrive. That’s why we’re excited to invite you to partner with the H.A.R.D. Foundation to provide scholarships to those in our community that need them most. In 2023, we awarded a total of $128,402 in scholarships to 264 community recipients.

We believe that everyone, regardless of their financial situation, should have the opportunity to participate in activities that promote health, well-being, and community engagement. Whether a summer day camp with an emphasis on STEM or pickle ball lessons for seniors, H.A.R.D. has something for everyone. By sponsoring a scholarship you’re sending a message to our community that you care.

Our scholarship program plays a crucial role in making this vision a reality. By providing financial assistance, we enable youth and adults in our community to engage in a wide range of recreational activities—from sports and fitness classes to arts and outdoor adventures. These experiences are not just enjoyable; they are transformative, fostering personal growth, building confidence, and creating lasting connections.

However, we cannot achieve this alone. We need the support of community-minded businesses like yours to ensure that everyone has access to these vital opportunities. We are inviting you to become a sponsor of our scholarship program and join us in making a tangible difference in the lives of individuals and families in our community.

As a sponsor, your business will play a pivotal role in supporting our mission. Here are some of the benefits of becoming a sponsor:

  1. Community Impact: Your sponsorship will directly fund scholarships, allowing more individuals to participate in recreational activities that improve their quality of life.
  2. Brand Visibility: Your business will be prominently featured on our website, social media channels, and event materials, showcasing your commitment to the community.
  3. Networking Opportunities: Partnering with us connects you with other local businesses and community leaders who share a passion for making a difference.
  4. Positive Public Relations: Your involvement will be highlighted in our newsletters, press releases, and promotional campaigns, enhancing your brand’s reputation as a community champion.

We offer several sponsorship levels (see below) to suit your business’s capacity to give, each with its unique set of benefits.

Your sponsorship will not only enhance your business’s visibility but also demonstrate your commitment to fostering a healthier, more connected community. Together, we can provide life-changing opportunities for those who need them most.

Show the community you care by choosing your Sponsorship Level below no later than June 30, 2024 (to receive full sponsor benefits).

To become a sponsor or learn more about how you can get involved, please contact Steven Love, Executive Director at lovs@haywardrec.org – 510-514-5722.

Thank you for your consideration and support.

“My daughters would greatly benefit from the scholarship because it would enable them to participate in classes and have experiences that we could otherwise not afford. They are interested in so many things that I cannot sign them up because of finances. I would like to sign them up for summer camps especially. My seven-year-old loves science and dance, and my five-year-old loves art and gymnastics. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.”

“Both of my children are very active and curious. I’d like them to be able to have the experience of attending a summer camp where they can make new friends and learn new things. I am a single mother and it would be a big help financially to receive a scholarship for them.”
