Mission

Our mission is to create partnerships and foster charitable giving to help H.A.R.D. create, maintain, and operate outstanding parks and programs accessible and fun for all.

Vision

A thriving, self-sustaining nonprofit organization that helps enable H.A.R.D. to provide exceptional parks and recreation services to our entire community.

History

The Hayward Area Recreation and Park District Foundation (H.A.R.D. Foundation) was founded in 1983 and is made up of private citizens to preserve the quality of park and recreation facilities and programs within the boundaries of the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District (H.A.R.D.). Our Board of Directors and community volunteers meet quarterly to discuss how to further invest in our community. Our boundaries encompass a 100 square-mile area, which includes the City of Hayward and the unincorporated communities of Castro Valley, San Lorenzo, Ashland, Cherryland, and Fairview.
